Want SOC 2 compliance without the Security Theater?

Question 🤔 does your SOC 2 program feel like Security Theater? Just checking pointless boxes, not actually building security?

In an industry filled with security theater vendors, Oneleet is the only security-first compliance platform that provides an “all in one” solution for SOC 2.

We’ll build you a real-world Security Program, perform the Penetration Test, integrate with a 3rd Party Auditor, and provide the Compliance Software … all within one platform.

GitHub Digest

Software supply chain security is a tricky and complicated subject, but it is also an important one to address in your overall security landscape. The below article will tell you what you can already do to be better prepared.

It is good to be transparent about your offerings and services. GitHub shares the availability report for September and describes the root causes of the outages and service degradations they experienced.

Overwhelmed by notifications? The new focus view in the mobile app can help you out. Besides bug fixes and a new notification filter, Android users can also access a contribution graph.

Coding Corner

Do you know what happens with the domain suffix when a country disappears? A small island that has ownership of the .io domain suffix is about to be transferred to a neighboring country and as such loses the right to use .io.

As there is a formal process in place that removes top domain names when countries are no longer there, we will see domains like github.io disappearing in the future. I even have my own app, scitor.io, using that suffix, so I will have to look at other options as well.

But the history and why we have such strict rules in place are an interesting read.

I talk a lot about Copilot, but it is for sure not the only AI system out there. Although you can use it in the JetBrains IDEs, they do have two of their own solutions: a Local Full Line Code Completion and a cloud-based AI code completion provided by JetBrains AI Assistant.

So how are they actually performing?

More and more organizations are mandating a return-to-office policy. No longer trusting employees to make the best decision about where to work from. Ross Pettit gives his view of what is really behind this drive.

Azure Updates & Insights

A new version of the FinOps toolkit, a set full of tools and practices on how to implement FinOps on Azure. See the release item for the changes.

A whole bunch of samples for Azure Cosmos DB, also included are GenAI examples.

.NET Nook

This is a nice and condensed example of string normalization. The example is simple, but that is the best way to learn.

Yet another test framework, TUnit, which I did not know about yet. But the article of Steven Giesel is about xUnit and the new things in v3. Did you know you can now change your test project to be an executable?
